    GROUND AND RAIL FREIGHT UPDATES

CP Rail Free Time Reduced at Vaughan Terminal
    source: ciffa

In its Tariff 3 – Intermodal Supplemental Services issued in July 2016, CP Rail reduced the free time at Group Five Terminals (Vaughan) from 48 hours to 36 hours. (See page 11 of the document, accessible through the link below.) However, implementation was deferred until January 1, 2018. And it seems that, without any reminders or secondary communication, everybody forgot about the change. Dray operators, freight forwarders, customs brokers and importers appear to have been caught by surprise.

A message from CP Customer Service to a CIFFA member stated that “the 36-hour Vaughan window has been in place for some time; there was a grace period reflecting 48 hours to allow the change to be absorbed.”
