FMC eases some publication requirements for ocean container carriers
freightwaves.comThe U.S. Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) on Thursday adopted a final rule that eases certain publication requirements for ocean container carriers, providing partial relief sought by the World Shipping Council in a 2018 petition to the agency.The FMC’s approval of the rule follows a Feb. 14 notice of proposed rulemaking, in which the agency received two public comments. CMA CGM reports $48 million profit, receives $1.18 billion loan

The CMA CGM Group said that despite the financial and operational challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic, it was able to turn in a solid first-quarter performance that included a net profit of $48 million.

CN benefits from British Columbia’s growing propane exports
freightwaves.comThree vessels carrying Canadian propane destined for international markets departed from AltaGas’ Ridley Island Propane Export Terminal on Thursday, beating a previous record by 50%, according to CN (NYSE: CNI). Canada’s Air Transat Sets July 23rd Date For Flight Resumption

Canadian leisure carrier Air Transat has today announced that it plans to resume flights and tour operations from July 23rd. The airline grounded its fleet earlier this year due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Now, it will resume flights to 23 international destinations over the summer months as well as maintaining a domestic network. Read more here.
