European airports say declining freight volumes are “hard to ignore”

European airports saw freight traffic slow as 2018 drew to a close, with demand decreases registered in the last two months of the year.
Data from Airports Council International (ACI) Europe show that freight traffic at airports in Europe declined by 2.2% year on year in December, following on from a 1.4% decrease in November. Read more here.

Air Canada Cargo links with GTA dnata in Toronto for pharma shipments

Air Canada Cargo is collaborating with GTA dnata which will handle all the airline’s export and import pharmaceutical shipments at Toronto Pearson International Airport from February 26. Read more here.

US box imports still strong as tariff hike approaches

Imports through the major US retail container ports have dipped since the peaks seen last autumn but remain at higher-than-usual levels as a possible increase in tariffs on goods from China approaches in March, according to the monthly Global Port Tracker report released today by the National Retail Federation (NRF) and Hackett Associates.  Read more here.
