    Europe’s Borders Could Remain Closed Until September

    Emmanuel Macron, President of France has raised concerns about a second wave of the coronavirus outbreak if Europe’s borders are reopened too soon. In a videoconference on Friday, Macron suggested that the entire Schengen area should remain in lockdown with closed borders until September. Read more here.

    Delta ups package weight and size limit for door-to-door cargo service

    Delta Cargo has expanded its pick-up and delivery service allowing customers to ship larger and heavier items.
    Its DASH delivery service is run in partnership with same-day delivery company Roadie and will now be expanded to include DASH Heavy. Read more here.

    Japanese boxship runs aground near Ho Chi Minh City

    The 2017-built 1,707 teu containership Ingenuity ran aground near Ho Chi Minh City late last week.

    MSC battles to keep freight moving as network outage stretches into fourth day

    As Monday’s Daily Splash newsletter readied to publish (free sign up via this link) the website of the world’s second largest containerline, Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), remains down, due to ‘Extended Maintenance’. The site, as well as booking platform MyMSC, have been down for nearly 85 hours, the longest outage for a top five carrier since Maersk was hit by the NotPetya malware attack in 2017. Read more here.
