HAECO adds new cargo storage products for aircraft cabins
aircargonews.netHAECO’s cabin solutions unit has launched a range of new stowage concepts that will allow airlines to combine passengers and cargo in the main cabin.The designs – which have gone from concepts to offerable products in under a month – were created in response to airlines looking for new ways of boosting freight capacity, which is seeing a spike in demand at the same time as passenger traffic, and belly-hold capacity, has plunged. Full ships in March for ONE, but April and May utilisation looks grim
theloadstar.comJapanese carrier ONE’s vessels from Asia to Europe sailed full last month, as bookings delayed by the extended Chinese New Year holiday were finally shipped out.However, due to a collapse in demand via Covid-19 lockdown restrictions, ONE will be challenged to reach anywhere near maximum load factors in April and May, despite the high number of blanked sailings already announced. Tanker stocks surge as global oil market collapses

Canada United States border to be closed for another 30 days
canadianshipper.comOTTAWA — Canada has extended its border closure with the United States for 30 days.The closure restricts non-essential travel across the border.The border was originally closed on March 21 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, with the arrangement set to expire on Tuesday. ‘Raincheck’ on taxes a relief for hard-hit US importers
theloadstar.comUS customs brokers and importers have been scrambling to revise monthly statements after the US government announced they could postpone duty, taxes and fees for 90 days.The executive order, signed on Sunday, temporarily extends deadlines for importers “suffering significant financial hardship” and was closely followed by a detailed explanation by Customs & Border Protection (CBP).
