Air Canada To Begin Los Angeles A220 Service From September
simpleflying.comIn March, we reported that Air Canada was going to be launching Airbus A220 service between Montreal and Los Angeles. The service was supposed to commence on August 1st and run through September 7th. Of course, within a matter of weeks, Air Canada and other major airlines would drastically cut their scheduled services due to the global health crisis, leaving many exciting new routes in limbo and possibly off the table. Virus slows airlines from adding capacity, airfreight volatility increases
freightwaves.comThe outlook for economic recovery and better health for airlines is more pessimistic and that’s bad news for manufacturers and other shippers seeing input costs rise due to higher transport prices in the COVID era.Passenger airlines are reporting huge second-quarter losses, terminating employees and slowing the reintroduction of flights as the coronavirus flares up. Fewer flights means fewer transport options for shippers already facing a supply shortage, but full-freighter operators – and freighter friendly airports like Rickenbacker in Ohio – will reap the reward with more business than they can handle. Emergence of a three-tiered structure among top global carriers
splash247.comDuring the pandemic the sizes of the fleets of the top four carriers have bunched closer together, while the next three have grouped closer and a third grouping made up of Yang Ming and HMM has become more equalised in recent months.Analysts at Copenhagen-based Sea-Intelligence state in their latest Sunday Spotlight report that they have seen the emergence of a three-tiered structure among the world’s top nine liners over the past six months. Florida port remains shut down as Tropical Storm Isaias approaches (with forecast video)
freightwaves.comTropical Storm Isaias is barreling through the northwestern Bahamas this morning, August 2, and will come close to landfall on Florida’s east coast today.Yesterday evening, the U.S. Coast Guard has issued a condition ZULU for Port Canaveral.
