Air Canada Cargo Joins Pharma.Aero collaboration platform

Air Canada Cargo has become a member of the Pharma.Aero cross-industry collaboration platform to further develop its pharmaceutical shipments handling knowledge.
Founded in 2016, the Pharma.Aero platform includes over 50 Life Science and MedTech manufacturers, cargo pharma-certified communities and other logistics stakeholders. Read more here.

Lufthansa Cargo apologises to customers as it freezes bookings after IT outage

Lufthansa Cargo has been forced to issue a global booking freeze for all cargo shipments to and via Frankfurt and Munich, until Friday, owing to an IT outage.
However, a ban earlier today on forwarders delivering cargo to its German hubs has been lifted, and customers can deliver freight again. Read more here.

MA CGM follows ONE with bow windshield installation

The bow windshields first invented by Japan’s Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) could be set to go mainstream with news that the world’s third largest liner has installed one on a flagship in its fleet.
Images from the Tugster, a blog covering ships passing through the port of New York, show the 16,000 teu CMA CGM Marco Polo has had a nose job, with a curved navy blue metal shield added to the prow of the giant vessel. Read more here.

B.C. Provincial Carriers Required to Use ELDs Beginning August 1

Provincially regulated commercial vehicle operators in British Columbia will be required to use electronic logging devices (ELDs) beginning August 1.
Failure to equip a vehicle with a compliant ELD will lead to a $520 fine, according to a new National Safety Code bulletin issued February 13 by the B.C. Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure. Read more here.

Spring Weight Restrictions 2023

MONTREAL, Feb. 13, 2023 — To all Customers shipping to/from the Province of Quebec. In order to avoid a potential backlog of heavy loads requiring special handling, we are implementing our Spring Weight Restrictions in advance of the Quebec Government notice. We are planning to have all heavy loads arrive prior to the anticipated start of restrictions on March 6, 2023. If the Government of Quebec issues an earlier date, we will adjust accordingly.
Please note that payload weights in equipment to be delivered by CNTL must be reduced per the requirements below for shipments planned to arrive after the start-date noted above. Read more here.
