Kolkata Removes Restrictions On Flights From Delhi And Mumbai

The Indian state of West Bengal eased COVID curbs last week, including removing restrictions on flights from Delhi and Mumbai. After almost a month, the state’s capital Kolkata will begin to see a steady rise in traffic from these two cities. SINGAPORE – A triple whammy of Covid-19 infections among airport staff, surge in shipments and the Chinese New Year holiday have led to severe delays in the processing of cargo at the usually efficient Changi Airport terminals.

Price of ship fuel surging, poised to eclipse all-time high

It should come as no surprise: Just as you’re paying a lot more for gasoline at the pump, ship operators are paying a lot more for marine fuel. In fact, average marine fuel prices are rising even faster than landside fuel prices. They’re now just a few dollars shy of all-time highs, with a new record seemingly imminent.

FMC to consider regulating ocean carrier billing practices

The Federal Maritime Commission is considering regulating how ocean carriers bill their customers for late fees related to picking up and dropping off containers.
An Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPRM) approved by the agency on Friday sets out the details of the proposal setting standards for demurrage and detention billing and seeks public comment to help shape it. Read more here.

Port of Montreal Notice to Truck Drivers and Providers: Closing of Port Road Between Bossuet and Viau Streets

The port road between Bossuet and Viau streets will be closed from February 21 to October 22. All traffic will have to detour using Notre-Dame Street. The closure will enable construction of a viaduct spanning Notre-Dame Street.

A quarter of Canadian businesses say they have already been the victim of a cyber attack in 2021, according to a Leger survey commissioned by technology firm NOVIPRO.
“The survey shows that cybersecurity is far from being a hypothetical risk,” said NOVIPRO information security head Dominique Derrier. “As soon as a company generates value, it appears somewhere on a cyberthreat map.” Read more here.
