Taiwan’s China Airlines To Get Renamed
simpleflying.comIt may have been a long time coming, but the Taiwanese parliament has today passed a bill to rebrand the islands’ largest airline to avoid confusion with mainland carriers. For decades, China Airlines (CAL) has frequently been confused with Air China, leading to calls to rename the county’s national flag carrier to make it sound more Taiwanese. Read more here.
Air freight revenues increased 20% in first half of 2020

Floods in China disrupt Yangtze River cargo flow
seanews.com.trPORT operations at Shanghai and Ningbo have been severly disrupted by the nation’s worst floods in decades which have led to port closures on the Yangtze River.The floods, caused by heavy rains over the last six weeks, have also impacted container operations in southern China where reefer imports have already been disrupted by stringent checks on meat and other perishables due to Covid-19. Carriers reduce blanked sailings
lloydsloadinglist.comThe slowing rate of announcements of additional blanked sailings indicates that carriers have now reached a point where they believe sufficient capacity has been removed from the market, according Sea-Intelligence.“In recent weeks we have seen the level of blank sailings slow considerably on the main East-West trades, and a large number of previously blanked sailings have been re-activated,” the analyst said. OOCL to expand Latin America coverage with new service
