    Capacity shortages on Asia-Europe directly due to transpacific trade boom

    There is growing evidence that capacity restrictions on the Asia-Europe ocean trades, in terms of both vessels and equipment, are a direct result of the transpacific demand boom.
    According to new research from liner consultancy Sea-Intelligence, recent capacity injections on the transpacific are expected to limit the ability of carriers to bring more slots and containers to the Asia-North Europe trade. Read more here.
    India’s container shortage to start easing in November

    CONTAINER availability in India is likely to start easing by mid-November because of growth in imports, reports London’s S&P Global Platts.
    Container volumes at the Port of Mundra recovered from July to September and were 36 per cent higher at 19.4 million tonnes. July to September container volumes at the Port of Mundra were at 1.3 million TEU against 1.2 million TEU a year ago. Read more here.

    CN Update: Mississauga (MISC) Yard Accepting Empties

    Effective today at 00:01 ET, CN is again able to accept empty containers at its Mississauga (MISC) yard. The capacity constraints it was experiencing, driven by high inventory levels, had temporarily forced CN to stop accepting empties there.
    To maintain a safe operating environment, CN asks customers to comply with their empty container yard allocation at MISC.
