Turkmenistan lures airlines with promise of cheaper fuel

The government of Turkmenistan has announced it will offer preferential fuel prices to all airlines that choose to use the country’s airports for technical stops between Asia and Europe. According to the government’s website, Cargolux (CV, Luxembourg) became the first carrier to enjoy such discounts on October 1, 2018. Read more here.

Mixed fortunes for OOCL in Q3 as liftings and revenues rise, but so do costs

OOCL increased carryings by 6.9%, year on year, in the third quarter, to 1.7m teu, while improving turnover by 7%, to $1.56bn.
