Istanbul New Airport goes live on October 31

Istanbul New Airport has confirmed that the new Turkish gateway will open for passenger flights on 31 October, with the existing main city gateway, Atatürk closing on the same day.

Istanbul New Airport said that an official opening ceremony would take place on October 29, the 95th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey, attended by parliamentary speaker Binali Yıldırım and other state officials. Read more here.

New tanks to fuel Edmonton’s cargo growth

Edmonton International Airport (EIA) and Shell Aviation broke ground on September 5 on two new 2m litre refuelling tanks to cope with an upsurge in freight business.

The new tanks at the airport’s cargo village will be purpose-built for handling full freighters and will improve turn-around times for flights. Read more here.

CMA CGM price cut shocks rival box carriers trying to push up rates

CMA CGM has shocked the market by reducing Asia-North Europe FAK rates at a time when most carriers are trying to drive them up.
